Niagara Falls - This picture is floating around the internet in fwd. emails and just took my breath away. I LOVE Niagara Falls and wish I could go back to it. Those who’ve been there know what I’m talking about; and those who haven’t, well… it’s AMAZING!
I used to live in Toronto, Ontario for a few years and went to Niagara Falls several times. It was only 70 miles from us. Whenever someone visited us we went to Niagara Falls. You can hear the roar long before you reach it. The first time I saw it I couldn’t stop looking at it - all that water; all that power. Beautiful. Wonderful. One of the best places I’ve ever been, if not the best of all.
The Grand Canyon lures me. I’ve always wanted to see it but haven’t had the opportunity. I nearly made it one year, saw the Hoover Dam but didn’t get to the Grand. Darn. I drove with a friend through Arizona, saw the awful strip mining, got really close to the Grand Canyon, but still couldn’t go. Time issues. So, I look at everybody’s pictures and long to be there. It fascinates me.
But, I’m sure Niagara would still be my favorite - all that water…. I’m Pisces, after all, born on the cusp of Aquarius. Mars rising.
I’ve been to the Rockies which I love, saw Pike’s peak, the red bluffs and canyons of Colorado, and visited the huge white sand dunes in New Mexico. I was amazed by them and walked through the cold little stream across to them. We climbed up and slid down. It wasn’t gritty sand but soft and silky.
We camped there. I was with a biology class. I got so cold my sleeping bag wasn’t enough so I got up and sneaked into the van. Somebody else was already in there. We laughed and talked awhile. In the morning we got teased for being such wimps. She was an exchange student from Malaysia and I’m a Texas girl.
We traveled on and stood at Four Corners after the conference. Cool. We saw many beautiful things on the way there, and on the way back. Colorado is beautiful country.
But, Canadian Niagara Falls…. I could stare at it all day.
